1. Leakage
Problems with the cuff itself: The cuff has been used for a long time, the material has aged or worn, resulting in a decrease in airtightness; or during use, the cuff is scratched by a sharp object, causing minor damage and leakage.
Problems with the connection part: The connection tube interface between the cuff and the blood pressure monitor is loose, not fully plugged in, or the connection tube itself is damaged or cracked, resulting in gas leakage.
Valve failure: The exhaust valve or the inflation and deflation valve on the cuff fails and cannot be closed or opened normally, so that the gas cannot be kept in the cuff.
2. Inaccurate measurement
Improper wearing: The cuff is not worn in the correct position, such as too high or too low, and does not cover the correct position of the upper arm; or the cuff is wrapped too tightly or too loosely, affecting the transmission of pressure and the measurement results.
Inappropriate size: The size of the cuff used does not match the circumference of the user's upper arm. If the cuff is too small, it will exert too much pressure on the blood vessels, resulting in a high measurement value; if the cuff is too large, the pressure cannot be effectively transmitted to the blood vessels, and the measurement value may be low.
Sensor failure: There is a problem with the pressure sensor inside the sphygmomanometer, resulting in inaccurate measurement data. This may be caused by aging, damage or external interference of the sensor.
Other factors: The environment is noisy and vibrating during measurement, or the user moves, talks, or has tense arm muscles during measurement, which may affect the accuracy of the measurement results.
3. Inability to inflate or insufficient inflation
Air pump failure: The air pump of the sphygmomanometer is a key component for inflating the cuff. If the air pump fails, such as motor damage, impeller blockage, etc., it will not be able to provide enough gas for the cuff.
Low battery power: Electronic sphygmomanometers are usually powered by batteries. If the battery power is too low, it may not be able to support the normal operation of the air pump, resulting in insufficient inflation.
Pipeline blockage: Dust, debris or water vapor may enter the pipeline connecting the cuff and the air pump, causing pipeline blockage, affecting the circulation of gas, so that the cuff cannot be inflated or inflates slowly.
4. Other faults
Display abnormality: There is a problem with the display screen of the sphygmomanometer, such as blurred display, missing lines, no display, etc., which may be caused by damage to the display screen itself, loose connection lines or control circuit failure.
Key failure: The operating keys of the blood pressure monitor cannot respond normally or function abnormally, which may be caused by poor key contact, key damage or internal circuit failure.
