1. Self-calibration
Approximately 15-30 minutes: Perform three comparison measurements with a mercury sphygmomanometer or electronic sphygmomanometer (5 minutes between each measurement). Calculate the average and determine if the error is within the acceptable range (systolic pressure difference ≤ 5 mmHg, diastolic pressure difference ≤ 2 mmHg).
2. Calibration by a professional institution
Approximately 1-2 hours: This includes device inspection, adjustment, and the issuance of a calibration report. An appointment must be made in advance and the device must be submitted for inspection.
3. Recommended Calibration Frequency
Routine calibration: Calibrate every 6 months to 1 year. Frequent use or damage may require more frequent calibration.
4. Precautions
Environmental requirements: Calibration should be performed in a quiet, stable temperature (20-25°C) environment, away from distractions.
Special populations: For patients with hypertension or pregnant women, the calibration interval is recommended to be shortened to 3-6 months.
