1. Prepare tools
Prepare a standard sphygmomanometer calibrated by the metrology department as a reference.
A Y-shaped tube or a three-way tube is also required.
2. Connect the sphygmomanometer
Use a Y-shaped tube or a three-way tube to connect the sphygmomanometer to be calibrated and the standard sphygmomanometer to the pressurized balloon.
3. Pressurized measurement
Pressure the two sphygmomanometers at the same time, so that the pressure rises to more than 200 mmHg, and then slowly and evenly deflate.
4. Compare readings
During the deflation process, read the readings of the two sphygmomanometers at different pressure points (such as 80 mmHg, 120 mmHg, 160 mmHg, etc.) and compare them.
5. Adjust the error
If the reading of the sphygmomanometer to be calibrated deviates from that of the standard sphygmomanometer, the error can be corrected by adjusting the screw or other adjustment device according to the manual of the sphygmomanometer.
6. Repeat the calibration
To ensure the accuracy of the calibration, it is recommended to repeat the above steps several times.
7. Calibration completed
When the readings of the sphygmomanometer to be calibrated at each pressure point are within the allowable range compared with the standard sphygmomanometer, the calibration is completed.
