1. Glass thermometer
How to use: Before use, shake the thermometer to below 35℃, then clamp the thermometer's temperature probe under the armpit or place it in the mouth, rectum, etc. for measurement. It usually takes 5-10 minutes to measure under the armpit, 3-5 minutes to measure in the mouth, and the rectal measurement time is similar to that of the oral measurement.
Precautions: Avoid drinking too hot or too cold water before measurement. Keep the armpit dry when measuring under the armpit. If there is sweat in the armpit, wipe it dry; do not bite the thermometer when measuring in the mouth to avoid danger; be gentle when measuring in the rectum to avoid damaging the intestine.
2. Electronic thermometer
How to use: Press the power button to turn on the thermometer, place the probe in the measurement area, such as the armpit, mouth or rectum, and read the measurement result after the thermometer sounds a prompt.
Precautions: Replace the battery regularly to ensure the accuracy of the measurement; make sure that the probe is in full contact with the measurement area when measuring; electronic thermometers of different brands and models may have different measurement times and operation requirements, and must be used according to the instructions.
3. Infrared thermometer
How to use: When using a non-contact infrared thermometer, you need to aim the thermometer at the forehead or wrist, etc., the distance is generally about 3-5 cm, and press the measurement button to quickly obtain the temperature value; when using a contact infrared thermometer, you need to gently insert the probe into the ear canal, ensure that the probe fits tightly with the ear canal, and then press the measurement button.
Precautions: The measurement area should be kept clean and dry, without hair, sweat or other obstructions; the ambient temperature may affect the measurement results of the infrared thermometer, and it is generally more accurate to measure in an environment of 16-35℃; when measuring ear temperature, adjust the probe angle according to the shape of the ear canal to ensure accurate measurement.
