Product Components

1. Aneroid Sphygmomanometer: This is the main component that displays the measured value. Unlike mercury sphygmomanometers, aneroid sphygmomanometers use a mechanical dial to display the blood pressure reading. The dial typically reads from 0 to 300 millimeters of mercury (mmHg).
2. Cuff: The cuff is made of durable nylon material, ensuring durability and comfort. It wraps around the upper arm and temporarily blocks blood flow to allow for measurement.
3. Inflation Ball: The inflation ball is used to inflate the cuff manually. It is typically equipped with a one-way valve for controlled deflation.
4. Pressure Release Valve: This valve allows the cuff to deflate gradually after inflation, controlled by the operator, to ensure accurate readings.
5. Stethoscope (optional): Typically used with a sphygmomanometer to listen to the heartbeat and accurately measure systolic and diastolic blood pressure.

How to use

1. Preparation: Ensure the blood pressure monitor needle is at zero. If it is not, adjust it to zero.
2. Applying the Cuff: Wrap the nylon cuff around the subject's upper arm, with the lower edge of the cuff approximately 2-3 cm from the antecubital fossa. The cuff should be tight enough to allow insertion of a finger.
3. Inflation: Use a latex balloon to inflate the cuff while observing the needle on the dial until it reaches the appropriate pressure range.
4. Measurement: During measurement, listen to the brachial artery pulse with a stethoscope to determine the systolic and diastolic blood pressures.
5. Deflation: Slowly open the chrome-plated valve to gradually release the air in the cuff while observing the needle on the dial.

Advantages

1. Accuracy: Aneroid sphygmomanometers are generally very accurate when properly maintained.
2. Mercury-Free: Unlike mercury sphygmomanometers, which pose a risk of mercury leakage and contamination, aneroid sphygmomanometers are safer for both patients and healthcare professionals.
3. Latex-Free: Guaranteed to avoid allergic reactions to latex.
4. Cost-Effective: Typically less expensive than automated digital sphygmomanometers.
5. Durability: Nylon cuffs are durable and less prone to degradation than other materials.

Notes

1. Regular Calibration: To ensure accurate measurement results, it is recommended to calibrate the blood pressure monitor regularly.
2. Correct Wearing: The cuff's position and tightness can affect measurement results, so it is essential to wear it correctly.
3. Avoid Overinflation: During inflation, avoid overinflation to avoid discomfort to the patient.
