Description

The Household manual Sphygmomanometer is a home manual sphygmomanometer used to measure blood pressure. This device usually consists of a cuff, an air bag, a pressure gauge, and a release valve. When using the device, first tie the cuff to the upper arm of the person being measured, then increase the air pressure in the cuff by squeezing the air bag so that the air pressure exceeds the person's systolic pressure, and then gradually reduce the air pressure until the sound of the heartbeat can be heard. At this time, read the value on the pressure gauge to get the person's systolic and diastolic pressure.

Advantage

1. Accuracy: Manual sphygmomanometers are typically thought to be more accurate than automatic ones when used correctly.
2. Cost-effectiveness: Compared to electronic or digital devices, manual sphygmomanometers are typically less expensive.
3. No batteries needed: Because manual devices don't need batteries, they are more dependable when used for extended periods of time.
4. Commonly used in clinical settings: When exact measurements are needed, manual sphygmomanometers are the gold standard in many clinical settings.

Precautions

1. Regularly calibrate the sphygmomanometer, usually once a year or more. You can get in touch with the local metrology agency or the manufacturer.
2. To guarantee the accuracy of the measurement findings, select a cuff that is the right size based on the user's upper arm circumference.
3. To prolong its useful life, the sphygmomanometer should be stored correctly after use to keep out heat, moisture, and direct sunlight.

Calibration Check

Quick Check of Calibration:
At zero pressure, make certain the pointer is within the oval surrounding the zero-pressure gradation on the dial. Although an unpressurized reading of zero does not guarantee accuracy at all scale points, failure of the pointer to indicate zero (± 3 mmHg) is an obvious sign of error.

Full Check of Calibration:
The company recommends a full check of calibration at least every two years or according to local law and after maintenance and repair. Use the following procedure:
1. Connect the test instrument.
2. Pressurize gauge to slightly above 280mmHg.
3. Bleed pressure down no faster than 3mmHg per second, stopping to check the pressure at 250, 200, 150, 100, 50 and 0 mmHg.
