Instructions

Wash your hands and wear sterile gloves before you grab the stick. Hold the patient's head back nearly 70 degrees. The nasal swab is then leveled down to the back of the nasopharynx.

Slowly insert the tip into one of the nostrils. Be careful not to injure the delicate nasal wall. No doubt it will be a little uncomfortable, but not painful. In fact, a finely flocked tip will help make it easier.

When reaching the back of the nasopharynx, rotate the wand 2-3 times to allow the flocked tip to absorb enough of the target sample.

Slowly remove the swab and place it in a sterile VTM tube as soon as possible. Break the plastic handle at the breakpoint before screwing the cap.
